iPage Review - UPDATED Nov 2020
iPage is an American web hosting company with over 2,000,000 websites. It’s a green company that runs 100 percent on wind power. In addition to providing web hosting services, iPage also has an excellent website builder, which we are going to present today in this iPage review.
Ease of Use and Features
The control panel used by iPage is pretty easy to use. There are no tabs to click between; instead, everything is divided into sections from top to bottom. The company offers three website building options. The first is the template-based CM4AII, which is fairly easy to use and can make up to six pages. The second one is a drag and drop site builder by Weebly, and the third option offered by the control panel is goMobi, which allows you to create the perfect mobile site.
We were particularly interested in the drag and drop builder since it’s precisely this type of website builders that is the most interesting one to the majority of customers, as well as our readers. This is a great, simple, convenient website builder that everyone can use.
Every customer that signs up for hosting services by iPage will receive these website builder tools. As for the features, in addition to the three website building tools, you will also get a plethora of themes and templates to choose from, easy setup wizards, multiple e-mails, content management systems like Joomla!, Mambo, Drupal and, of course, WordPress, blogs, forum tools, and photo galleries. The plans also include some free ad credits, eCommerce tools and solutions, file manager, FTP manager, unlimited storage space, scalable bandwidth, unlimited MySQL databases, customizable e-mail, vDeck control panel, non-stop monitoring, visitor and traffic stats and reports, and more. iPage is very feature-rich, which is one of the reasons they made it to our list of the best website builders.
Interface and Design Flexibility
As we already mentioned in this iPage review, the control panel itself is pretty easy to use, and the same goes for the drag and drop builder. To create your website, all you need to do is drag the pieces of content or multimedia across the website and simply drop them in the desired place. You can choose from a wide selection of very attractive and contemporary-looking themes, which are also highly customizable. If you wish, you can add contact forms, polls, slideshows, social media links, maps, galleries, music, anything you like.
Support and Tutorials
iPage has an online help center with a knowledge base, tutorials, video instructions, and other resources. If you don’t find your answers there, you can choose between phone support and chat support, both of which are available 24/7. There’s also a ticketing system. The company states their average response times are one minute or less, and from what we saw when we contacted the support staff for the purposes of this iPage review, they seem to deliver on that promise. The staff on the phone was polite and helpful. The staff member we contacted through live chat was also friendly and nice and even though he himself couldn’t solve our issue, he directed us to an article in the knowledge base which was very helpful.
As we already mentioned, the iPage website builder is available only through hosting packages, so we can’t really talk about the price of the builder itself. The hosting plans, all of which come with the builder, range from $1.99 per month for regular shared hosting with a domain name, free eCommerce store, and unlimited disk space and e-mail, to $19.99 per month for VPS, and $119.99 per month for dedicated hosting.
